#328 Just another Manic Monday FrustraShawn

Mondays as a rule suck.

The Monday Morning Commute, sucks to an added degree.

This particular Monday Morning Commute went far and beyond the call of duty... or rather the STM did.

So a massive Thank You and Merci to the STM for reminding me that today is Monday! (Like I could forget) But you really didn't have to have TWO Slowdowns AND an Interruption of Service to do this... the alarm clock and then the rain to start the day were more than enough.

My 45 minute commute was stretched to just a little over 90 minutes...

Bell you STM... you certainly make me feel I get my money's worth.

#225 Mystery QuestShawn

So it was raining today. All day. And, like any day where it rains, for some strange reason there are more people on the bus.

But today there was a ton more people... but WHY?  The buses that are on the routes that I take all are long distance routes that do not stop often, like downtown city buses that stop at every other corner or so.  No, these buses only stop two or three times per Km. So, it's not like these are all people that would otherwise walk, but because of the rain they choose to take the bus.

So, on a day like to day with LOTS of rain, 3 buses didn't stop because they were full. There's just no good reason for that. I mean, it's a complete mystery.

I think one of these days I'm going to ask one of these people where the hell they came from. Because, when you take the same bus every day of the week, you tend to notice the 'regulars' and these Wet Weather Bus Crashers,

All of this to say I was nearly 30 minutes late getting home tonight. Damn it!

#183 Commute HydraShawn

Well it's finally here. The MAIN reason Summer Sucks, Humidity in the Metro.

When it's in the low thirties for the daily high, and in the mid forties for the Humidex it's time to start daydreaming about living at the Sough Pole. And the temperatures in the Buses and Metro are no better. Add in the packed, rush hour human-sardine like conditions and holy crap. Just standing or sitting and you break out sweating bullets.

Time to start carrying a water bottle to and from work, to keep hydrated and a wee bit cool. The real challenge is not having to go to the bathroom before getting to the office or home!

FYI,  only 172 days until Winter.
